Wassily Chair Redesign

The chair design concept is to take a stream-line modern piece that was originally designed as a defiance against the other decorative and busy art and design styles of the 1920s. By taking this modern piece that was a rebellion against the art deco style and reinterpreting it into a decorative and glamorous piece we hope to reverse Marcel Brauer's original design concept to create something unique. Our aim is to prove that recycled materials can look glamorous and high-end, with minimal environmental impact.
